Client Financial Assistance
WPEA provides financial assistance to those needing hippotherapy or equine-assisted psychotherapy with financial need.
Handler Scholarships
To provide hippotherapy and some types of equine-assisted psychotherapy requires the assistance of a horse handler, side walkers, or equine specialist.
Provider Financial Aid
WPEA provides financial aid to to physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and licensed mental health professionals to gain the specific training needed to provide hippotherapy or equine-assisted psychotherapy.
Fundraising
Hosting and participating in fundraising is a process that takes time and money. We have to spend funds to get the word out to everyone, buy goods to sell, and pay for fuel to get to events off-site.
Equipment
Many of the clients that need hippotherapy need accessible tack or equipment to help them get on the horse. This equipment is key to the client's success.
Facility
To provide hippotherapy or equine-assisted psychotherapy, WPEA partners with an equine facility. There is a cost for using the facility and the horses for both types of therapy.
